A more sustainable bulb for existing commercial fluorescent housings.
Description
L.E.D. bulbs have a lifespan of up to 100,000 hrs and they are more environmentally friendly than traditional fluorescent bulbs. Our concept increases sustainability and retains the utility of existing fixtures without the need for renovation. Collaboration with Matt Sanger, 2009.
Materials
Fluorescent bulb guard, contacts from recycled fluorescent bulbs, laser-cut acrylic core to hold L.E.D.s, wiring, and a 120v - 12.6v mini transformer.
